1-800-GET-LOST consists of four experimental video remixes (1-800-FICTION, Bleach FormulaHeikki Laaksonen’s Silent Syllables and Pink Trilogy). The project addresses the moment when the countless struggle to establish a sense of connectedness eventually conjure up an endless nightmare that overwhelms the physicality of life.

By reediting and overlaying language, pop-culture phenomenon, smartphone clips, and found footages from the Internet, the convolution of layered moments will demonstrate the itineraries to the nature of chaos, or the views of induced panic.

Two photographs of a beach house in ruins are displayed on separate LCD screens and sliced. The two screens are in dialogue: each displaying the house’s interior taken a few years apart, at different levels of decay. Akin to the firefighters who used the house in the 1970s to conduct drills and simulations, cutting and removing the screen’s polarizing filter film pushes the limits of its material condition. Between charred wood and the sunset. Between infinitesimal liquid crystals and the expansive space of the Internet.

I went to the woods today,
    Cause I couldn’t dream anywhere
I went to the woods today
    Cause I couldn’t dream anywhere
I went to the woods today
    But I couldn’t sleep anyway
Why? I couldn’t take away the time

It seems our consciousness is fascinated by our own hands.
It makes sense, for aren’t they a symbol of our agency? That endlessly fragile agency,
the sense of which is mostly constructed, almost dreamt up. Yet we’re searching for it relentlessly.
Hurtling through space like that, is restlessness any wonder?

    And so we dream…
We dream meaning into the vortex.
We escape to the woods. Our woods.
We code representations of our imagined bodies into cyberspaces and spend our time
    watching them.
    Mesmerised.
There’s something out there… Listen carefully. A lullaby. A nursery rhyme. A mantra.
    Meaning as self-soothing.

Dreaming while wondering how come we’re running out of places to dream, to even just sleep.
Out of space. Out of time.
So let yourself drift away to the sound of the hum of the spheres.
    This too shall pass.

Pre-Enactment of Rubbing a Hole in My Corpse, Variations on the Shadow My Decaying Corpse Will Cast, and Proposal For Actions To Be Performed With My Ashes Once I have Deceased are animations and a video from my series of work titled Rehearsals. These particular works rehearse performances that my body will enact once I have died, extending the hand and presence of the artist into the realm of post-breath. In addition to the videos, myself and my students will give a live play by play analysis reviewing the rehearsals.

Picture This is a fictionalized “How To” music video created for millennials.

Through the use of robotics and 3D worlds, the viewer is instructed to use a series of impractical robots to navigate the exaggerated struggles of a young person’s life.

Set in impossible worlds to uptempo music, “Picture This” exists in a space between an internet meme, popup advertisement, and a web sketch-comedy show.

I gave them my picture… *swoon* They’re an artist…. *swoon*

I paid them to play with me, Hell Resident, to play with my pictures… to write about my body. I found them online, Hell Resident. We didn’t talk that much. I paid him to edit pics of me and write stories about me. I am reciting two of these stories in “3 Women”.

Superficie des Continents (The Area of the Continents) is an archival-noise music film that explores various concepts of the surface of the earth, whether synthetic, natural, in extreme close-up or from a very far distance. Featuring the synth-drone feedback loop music of artist-musician Peter Edwards, the film oscillates between nature and human, surface and substance, outer space and plant life, while itself creating a feedback back loop between archival footage and new syntheses of it. The film was created with archival footage from educational and science film archives of the Eye Film Institute Archive, the National Film Archives of the Netherlands.
